You are invited to create a blog for this class—it should be focused on the language arts. You will go to http://wordpress.com/to create your blog. Please see directions for creating your blog and writing posts on our class blog. Our class blog is http://fryeemla.wordpress.com/

Your blog should include the following:

        1. Title
        2. About Me Page

This page should include the following:

At least 3 illustrations, photographs or artistic impressions of you; the page should be aesthetically appealing; include at least 4 carefully-crafted descriptions along with well-written explanations under each category: WHAT I LIKE, WHAT I DISLIKE, HOW I ACT, HOW I LOOK and WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME; include at least one simile.

        3. (Blogroll) Links to 3 sites from each of the following:
          • blogs of your choice created by your classmates
          • sites devoted to each of the following: the language arts and writing in general, poetry, journal/notebook writing, personal writing/memoir and multi-genre writing

      4. Your published works (journal assignment, poetry, poetry assignment and multigenre memoir project). For each of your assignments, you will create a page, not a post. For example, you will create a page titled "Journal Assignment." You will provide the context for the assignment and how you plan to use the journal assignment in your classroom. Then you will upload the journal assignment files to this page.

      5. Carefully crafted responses to the weekly readings and class    discussions.

In addition, you are expected to comment on the blogs of your classmates (writing circle) and our class blog.

Be sure to use the information on our class web page to help you locate your favorite sites.

Remember, you will be writing for a wide audience, so think carefully about your blog.
