Discussion Director

Your job is to write five questions and answers from the assigned reading.  You will help the students in your group go back to the book for their answers if they don’t know them.  So, to help this run very smoothly, you need to write down the questions, your answers to your questions, and the page numbers where the students can reference the text to justify their responses to your questions.

Summarizer

Your job is to prepare a summary of the reading in section three.   Be ready to give a quick statement that tells the key points of the reading.

Investigator

Your job is to get information related to Frederick Douglass.  There are several places that you can look for this information: library, magazines, encyclopedia, books, or the computer.  Use all of the resources that you can think of to find more information on this man.

Illustrator

Your job is to draw some kind of picture related to the reading of section three.  It can be a sketch, cartoon, diagram, or stick-figure scene.  With the picture should be included a paragraph explaining:  who or what the picture is about, where the picture takes place, when it is happening, and why you drew the picture.
