Modifications

For the visually impaired student, the books could be recorded on tape or read out loud within the literature circle groups.  Also, visuals could be made of the specific literature circle jobs in larger letters and displayed in the front of the classroom.

For hearing impaired, lots of visuals can be used and they can be the researcher for the majority of the jobs.

For ESL students in the classroom, books could be read aloud by the teacher and/or group members and explained.  Parts of the stories could also be translated to their native language through a website translator.
