Word Wizard

Your job is to create a Word Wizard for the following 3 words:

wafted p. 31 par. 3

jiffy p. 42 par. 2

magnificent p. 55 par. 1

Do the following 2 activities along with your words:

1.  Find a synonym and antonym for the word “jiffy.”

2.  Develop a sentence using both the words “wafted” and “magnificent.”  Present it to your group and see if they can develop a sentence of their own.

Discussion Director

Your job as Discussion Director will be to develop 5 thinking questions.  Be able to help the other people in your group go back into the passage and find the answer if they do not know it.  Write down your questions, your answers to these questions, and the page numbers where the responses can be found.

While coming up with your questions, keep in mind Mr. Fox’s reason for taking all the food from the farmers, and why the farmers are trying to dig Mr. Fox and his family out of their tunnel.  Think about the sequence of events, and how this sequence affects the story.  You can also choose to ask a question about Mr. Fox’s conflict and how he solves this problem (if there is a conflict).

Travel Tracer

Your job as Travel Tracer is to make a map following how Boggis, Bunce, and Bean (the farmers) attempt to dig the foxes out.  Create any style of map you want, as long as it follows the correct sequence of events.  Good luck Traveler!!
