One March day in the frigid town of Boone, there lived a young lady by the name Allison.  She was a girl of medium build with curly brown hair and chocolate eyes.  Allison dreamed of the day when she would find her one true love and imagined just how perfect he would be.  His eyes would shine like diamonds when he looked at her, she would be interested by his smell, and she would melt in his arms.  Unfortunately, Allison did not know where or how to begin her search for Mr. Right.
Allison had two friends, Ashen and Tabby, who loved to put their noses into everybody’s business.  They recognized Allison’s desire for companionship and both wanted to be of assistance to their dear friend, so they decided to play matchmaker.  Ashen and Tabby immediately pulled out their email address books, cell phones, and buddy lists to search for Mr. Right.  Ashen is the first one to come up with a prospect for Allison.  Ashen remembered one of her friends from high school had just recently told her he was ready to find a nice girl.  Trying to help both of her friends out, Ashen mentioned Allison to her high school buddy, Tony.  After Ashen had talked about Allison so much, Tony decided to call her.  Allison was not impressed because the entire time they were talking, Tony only talked about drinking and partying – two things which Allison was not very fond of.  When Allison thought of Mr. Right, she wanted someone who we could take home to mom, and Tony was not that someone.
Then it was Tabby’s turn to play matchmaker.  Allison knew her friend Tabby was up to something when she received an email with the subject “Blind Date.”  It seems Tabby had arranged a blind date for Allison with Travis from her Physics class.  Travis was also Tabby’s lab partner, so when he bombarded her with facts, they were useful for the topic at hand.  However, to Allison, Travis was rather dry and boring.  Allison knew her dream of finding her one true love was unrealistic, so she soon gave up looking for Mr. Right.  Instead, she busied herself with school work, club meetings, and a new job.
Despite her efforts Allison was constantly reminded of finding her true love.  She watched her friends in relationships – both good and bad – and even found herself comparing the partners of her friends to her own perfect prince.  The nice young man Allison dreamed of truly was a prince compared to some of the guys her friends dated.  Her prince would always open doors, always treat her with kindness, love her unconditionally, and would never break her heart.  However, despite their attempts at playing matchmaker, Ashen and Tabby had little luck at finding a companion for Allison.  Allison knew that she would never find her prince – or true love – so she just stopped looking for it.
One day in that same month, Allison’s master matchmaker, Brooke, announced that she had met the perfect guy for Allison.  “Oh my gosh!  I met the perfect guy for you!”  Brooke exclaimed.  A string of babble tumbled out of her mouth as she began to tell Allison all about this perfect guy.
“Okay, slow down,”  Allison said as she sat down at Brooke’s desk.  “Alright, now what are you talking about?”  she asked.
“Well, last night, I couldn’t sleep.  So, I got on the computer to see who was online.”  This was not an unusual occurrence for her master matchmaker, but Allison was still confused.  “There  wasn’t really anyone online, so I searched for someone to talk to.  This guy is really nice, He loves kids.  He’s big into church.  He’s perfect for you!”  Brooke exclaimed again.  Without allowing the young lady to speak, Brooke continued, “He’s going to be online tonight, and I want you to sit down and talk to him.”
“I don’t think so,” responded Allison.  “I don’t know who this person is.  I’ve had friends try to set me up before, and I don’t think I want to go through it again.”
“You just need to sit down and talk to him,” stated Brooke.
It took Allison a week to work up the courage to talk to this “perfect guy.”  In the meantime, Brooke found out everything she could about this mysterious man from the Internet.  Actually, he didn’t sound all that mysterious – rather, he really began to look like someone that Allison could become very fond of.  So, the moment finally came.  Brooke said, “Sit down and talk to him” and that’s what Allison did.
It was as if they had known each other forever!  Immediately, the young lady hit it off with this man.  His name was Christopher, and he was amazing!  Try as she might to resist, Allison could not help comparing him to the “Mr. Right” she had always dreamed of.  However, the young lady didn’t want to get her hopes up.  After all, she had only talked to this prince on the Internet, so she hadn’t seen his eyes shine like diamonds when he looked at her.  She couldn’t smell his intoxicating fragrance, and she definitely couldn’t melt in his arms.  Even still, Allison knew there was something special about Christopher, and the connection between them kept growing stronger.  It was all bittersweet to Allison because while she thought she had finally found her perfect prince charming, he was 1000 miles away from her.  She was in North Carolina, and he was in Texas.  Their hearts where together, but the distance still separated them.  Meanwhile, Allison watched Ashen and Tabby meet nice guys and fall in love.  She wanted to join them more than anything.
Over the next few weeks, the chats on IM became fewer and fewer, but the phone calls got longer and longer each night.  Pretty soon, Christopher decided to make a trip to North Carolina to visit Allison. Texas was over a 1000 miles away, but he knew he had to make the trip in order for true love to grow.  So, he boarded a plane, and she drove the three hours to the airport.  The few minutes waiting at the terminal was agony, and her heart pounded harder with each person stepping off of the plane.  Then, their eyes met, and Christopher began to walk over to her.  When they were close enough in distance, she threw her arms around his neck and melted in his arms.
The next four days were wonderful.  Allison had her prince – and she could hold him, kiss him, and laugh with him.  But once again, reality set in, and Sunday arrived.  He boarded the plane to return to Texas, and the tears began rolling down Allison’s face.  She waited by the phone for him to call her when he got home, and she wondered when she would get to see her prince again.
The time apart from Christopher made Allison feel as if she were locked in a prison cell.  When the two were together, she felt she was free, but apart, a piece of her was missing.  Of course Allison talked to Christopher everyday, but that was just not enough for the lovebirds.  One balmy evening in July, Christopher announced that he could no longer live without his love and that he was going to move to North  Carolina to be with Allison.  Preparations were made, and Christopher left his home in Texas on August 24, 2001.  He moved across the country to be with his one and only true love.
Allison had never been happier.  A void had been filled, and she knew she was now complete.  She never dreamed that she would find a prince so wonderful – nor one that would move 1000 miles away from all of his family and friends just to be with her.  She did know that she loved him, and that he loved her.  So, November 17th, 2001, when he got down on one knee outside the door of her master matchmaker Brooke’s home, she had no hesitations.
He said, “Honey, I love you will all of my heart.  You are the most precious thing God has ever given to me.  Allison, will you marry me?”  His eyes sparkled like diamonds.  Mr. Right was standing right in front of her.
Allison responded, “I love you too Christopher, and yes, I will marry you.”  Her void had been filled.  She had finally found her Prince Charming.  The life of loneliness that Allison expected to live had vanished, and her dreams of Prince Charming coming to rescue her had come true.  Allison and Christopher will be married on December 27, 2003, and on that day, Allison’s prince will make her his princess and they will live happily ever after.
