Wishes, Kisses, and Pigs
In this book, the reader will learn of a girl named
Louise and her struggle to reverse her wish to change her brother, Willie,
back into a human. In the beginning, Louise wished upon a bright star that
her brother would become a pig. To her surprise, he did! Throughout the
book, Louise and her mother take on the obstacles of keeping Willie in
the pen safely, away from pesky neighbors and barbeques. Willie was a very
depressed pig. All he wanted was to be human again so he could be
with his love, Maybelle. After much discussion, trials, and tribulations,
Louise and her mother finally figure out the perfect way to redirect the
wish. This book exhibits a great fantasy. It is dramatic as well as humorous.
The reader will wonder throughout the entire book if Louise has the special
powers to help her brother. Wishes, kisses, and pigs…what will all this
mean in the end?
Aquamarine
This book tells about the friendship of two small girls.
Claire and Hailey have been best friends forever. They spend every summer
together at the Capri Beach Club. After learning of the beach club closing
and experiencing a terrible storm, the beach club is destroyed. Claire
and Hailey are terribly upset because they will never be able to spend
their summers together again. The girls end up discovering a suspicious
mermaid that had washed up at the beach club pool after the storm while
they were investigating the area. The girls learn several lessons
as they become friends with Aquamarine. Throughout their excitement and
sadness, the girls are able to create a love that will never be broken.
